About Niyyah Market

The name

Niyyah (Arabic: نيّة), is the Arabic word for intention. In Islam an act is weighed by the intention behind it; the first hadith in Sahih al-Bukhari teaches that actions are judged by intentions. We named the market after that principle because the intention behind a marketplace shapes everything about it: what may be sold, how money moves, and how buyers and sellers are treated.

What Niyyah Market is

Niyyah Market is a marketplace for Muslims across the United States, run within the limits of Sharia. Independent sellers list their goods. A buyer pays through the platform, which sets the payment aside until the item has been delivered and only then pays the seller. The platform earns a commission on each sale and never charges or earns interest.

Goods that Sharia forbids are not allowed on the market. The full list, and the rules both sides agree to, are in our Terms of Service. What we collect and how it is used is in our Privacy Policy.
